The 5/6th grade wrapped up a disgusting lab this week. They grew bacteria on bread and wow was it gross. There were 5 different groups and a control. The control bread was placed in a bag using gloves and sealed immediately. The remaining bags were touched with dirty hands and clean hands; and rubbed on computers in the lab, a clean desk that was washed with sanitizer, and a dirty desk. The class definitely saw the importance of washing hands thoroughly. They discussed the Covid-19 outbreak and how washing hands at school and home can help keep each other safe.

The 5/6th grade had the opportunity to use some microscopes in class today. They looked at the leg of a fly, lung cancer cells, and even the cheek cells from one of their classmates.
This week the 7th/8th grade made a contour map drawing and then created a model of their design. This was an introductory class activity for our first science chapter on mapping Earth's surface. Mrs. Dominowski came in and had the fun job of matching everyone's drawing to their model. She was able to correctly identify each model! Great job 7th/8th!!!!!!
