This year the 7/8th grade started a student council program. Part of this program involves planning and organizing a school wide election for student body president. This year Simon and Julia went head to head in an epic (and very fun), battle. They campaigned to the different classrooms, handed out "vote for me" items, and talked to students on recess to get their votes. When election day came it was a very close race with Julia narrowly edging out Simon for the win. Congratulations Julia, we know you will do great things leading our school!

Our Harvest Party was a big hit again this year. We watched a movie, had a glow stick dance party, ate candy, had cider and donuts, learned about the Reformation, and enjoyed using and learning about the cider press. It was a great day!!!
Today the 5th-8th graders had an exciting balloon challenge. Their job was to build the tallest tower possible with one package of balloons and a roll of masking tape. It was a fun activity that involved teamwork, planning, and creativity. It was great to see all grade levels working together to achieve a common goal.
The 5th-8th graders had a blast this year for Lutheran Schools Week. Congratulations to the 7/8th grade for winning the Spirit Award trophy for the best participation for dress up days. Enjoy some of the photos from the week!
On Friday we got into the holiday spirit by having a Christmas Craft day. We listened to Christmas music, got really messy with paint and glitter, and even enjoyed an ice cream treat. The 5/6th grade had no idea what their projects were going to turn into, but over Thanksgiving break Mrs. Hemme surprised them with a gingerbread house classroom made from all of their crafts.
